Akshara Tourism

As a result of diversifying Kerala Tourism products,Tourism department of Kerala is always keen to give some thing new to their visitors especially because of its notorious intangible nature of the  Tourism products.
        On 27 th February 2011,department of Tourism has launched a one day Tour Package which will be operated and marketed as Akshara Tourism.As the name hints-its products are at the "Akshara Nagari" - Kottayam of Kerala State.The one day package will be a new enchanting one to the Visitors as it covers Kerala first ever Printing press- The C M S Press.The history,the inventries of erstwhile time,how its get printed in the early years-the tourist are facilitated with all sort of information and environment.
As Kottayam is famous for Newspapers, Weeklies, Magazines the tourist will get an opportunity to make a  visit to almost all the Malayalam dailies, their printing presses,tourists can amid ,learn themselves how it is printed,what all mechanisms involved,interactive section with employees,managers-The prospects are immense.............
In the afternoon session the tourists have the odds for a Backwater Cruise ,the most interesting-one transit point is at the family house of the Booker prize winner Smt:Arunthathi Roy.I believe this Group Inclusive Tour (GIT) is fabulous and first ever of this kind in the history o.f Tourism
Enchanting new tourism forms and more enchanting Kerala tourism packages are yet to come.................................................

Memorable Journeys Series -1

Some days are etched deep into the memory.  As we all went to Cuttack , Odisha on 17.02.2017 for attending a marriage, the Journey was such a wonderful one to remember for long. The majority of the IITTM Bhubaneswar staff were there with us and we went in a tempo traveler from Bhubaneswar to cuttack.  Down in the memory lane, many changes have come to Bhubaneswar. Now travel is so easy to Cuttack side as the Fly overs which have been constructed recently will take you overhead the city from Baramunda, When I came here first in the month of May 2013, I was welcomed by the skeletons of these Flyovers. Now its a sky high journey crossing Vani Vihar (where Utkal University situates), CRPC Chowk, Jaydev Vihar, Rasul Gadh towards Cuttack will continue
